The 2008 fire training schedule has been posted under the events page. No trainings are currently posted for July and August. All trainings are subject to change per order of the chief. Be sure to keep up on your trainings and check back often for updates to the schedule!

"Installation Dinner 2008"

This past Saturday the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company celebrated its 95th Anniversary of Installation of Officers. Master of Ceremonies Ronald G. Decarli gave an incredibly inspiring speech to launch everything off. Dinner was then served at seven catered by Ilio Dipaolo’s Restaurant. After Dinner concluded installation of the new offices began.

The new Administrative Officers for 2008 are Patrick McAnaney as President, Ernest J. Jewett as Vice President, Charles Zahm Jr. as Secretary, Tara Bosinski as Assistant Secretary, Richard Mardino as Treasurer, and Kevin Jewett as Sergeant at Arms.

The new Firematic Officers for 2008 are John Kolb as Chief, John Niedermeier Jr. as 1st Assistant Chief, Brian Donahue as 2nd Assistant Chief, Donald Baxter Jr. as Captain, Jacob Gibbons as Junior Captain, Chris Kolb as Lieutenant, Jeff Luke as Junior Lieutenant and EMS Captain, and Tara Bosinski as EMS Lieutenant.

The Trustees for 2008 are Michael Weller as Head Trustee and Brian Donahue, Ernest J. Jewett, John and Otto Niedermeier, and Mark Warsaw.

The Service Award Directors for 2008 are John Pavlovich, Jeff Luke, and Otto Niedermeier.

Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Jewett, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick McAnaney, Mr. and Mrs. John Niedermeier Jr, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Scarsella, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Weller for putting in a lot of time and work to pull off a spectacular Installation Dinner.

"New In Woodlawn EMS"

The EMS branch of Woodlawn is changing and expanding. Former 2007 EMS Captain Chris Kolb has relinquished his position as Captain and Firefighter Jeff Luke, an intermediate EMT, has been appointed the new EMS Captain for Woodlawn. He has shown great enthusiasm towards improving the quality of care given by Woodlawn EMTs and is working towards advancing Woodlawn’s ambulance to the intermediate level of care.

Firefighter Michael Rosenberg has been successfully certified as a basic EMT. This makes Rosenberg Woodlawn’s newest basic EMT, be sure to congratulate him on his success. Woodlawn Firefighters Justin Janiga and Rick Abraham are currently enrolled in the basic EMT course at ECC. If all goes well Woodlawn should have two additional EMTs in early January. "New Woodlawn Members"

The Woodlawn membership has continued to grow over the last few months with the addition of some new firefighters to our ranks. Each has brought a variety of skills but all share one thing, a desire to serve their community and help others in need. These new members include Jay Mazurkiewicz, Rick Abraham, Chuck Costello, Chad Lindner and Nick Cirocco. Each of these new members will prove to be great assets to the Company and do their part to make a difference in the community. Already firefighters Rick Abraham and Chad Lindner have passed the State's Firefighter 1 course.  They are both well on there way to making names for themselves.
