The long wait is finally
over. On October 2nd 2006 the new engine 2 went into
service and replaced the old engine as the initial attack engine for Woodlawn. Since late
August the new engine sat in the Woodlawn Fire Hall bays, lifeless,
until without warning it was put into service.
Training, run by Assistant Chief Kryszak, was held that night
which focused on the features, procedures, and equipment of the
new engine to acclimate Woodlawn firefighters as quickly as
possible to the new apparatus. Company members are encouraged
to take a thorough look at the now fully equipped Woodlawn 2 to
learn were all the equipment is and direct any technical
questions to the Chiefs.
